Who here started pole dancing and instantly felt intimidated? Who joined their first aerials class and left feeling deflated because they’d never join the circus? Me! *raises both hands aggressively*.
Next question: who feels ‘stalled’ and can’t see any progress? Who goes home and thinks “why aren’t I strong enough – I’ve been doing this for so long!”? I see you there with your hands still raised, and I’m going to ask you to put those arms down straight away, it’s time to change that mindset! No matter how long you have been on your pole and aerials journey I want you to think back to before you started… What was your skillset the day prior to that first dance class? Easy answer – NOTHING! And so with every single lesson we progress! We may plateau – but we never regress (unless you quit entirely and sit inside all day and are allergic to fun!). Building strength takes consistency and patience. Our muscles work so hard for our bodies! So please be patient with yourself and you’ll get that move! Because you are STRONG and you grow STRONG each and every day. X Jaymee
